Count what is physically on the shelf and enter it. When it differs from what Owlvix expected, the difference is booked as an adjustment, so your stock and its value are right again.

Steps

  1. Open the product and click Count stock. You can also open Count stock from any product page or start from a blank form.

    Open the product
  2. Check what the system expects. Under the product you see the quantity Owlvix thinks you have. With Multi-Warehouse, choose the warehouse you counted in.

    What the system expects
  3. Enter the counted quantity. Type what you really found on the shelf.

    Enter your count
  4. Add a reason such as Monthly count or Damaged in the rain. It is kept with the adjustment.

    Add a reason
  5. Click Save count. The stock on hand changes to your count and the stock history shows a Count move for the difference.

    Save the count

Note If your count matches, nothing changes and no move is made.

Good to know

  • With several warehouses, the quantity under the product is the total in all of them, while your count changes only the warehouse you pick. The product page shows what each warehouse holds under By warehouse.
  • For products with lots or serial numbers, you count each lot (or tick each serial number) instead of one total. Lots you find that aren't listed can be added on the same screen.
  • The value of the difference is booked in your accounts as a stock adjustment, so your books match the shelf.
