A customer is anyone you sell to. Save them once and their details fill in on every quotation and invoice, and their page shows what they owe you.

Steps

  1. Open Sales & Invoicing, then the Customers tab. You see everyone you sell to and how many invoices each has. Click New customer.

    Open Customers
  2. Type the name, email and phone. Invoices and reminders are emailed to this address. Pick the country code next to the phone number if it isn't yours.

  3. Add the address and tax number. Both are printed on invoices. Business customers often need their VAT, GST or NTN number on the invoice.

  4. Choose a price list and currency (optional). A price list gives this customer special prices. The currency is the one their new invoices and quotations start in.

  5. Click Save customer. Their page shows what they still owe you, their invoices and quotations, and buttons to start a New quotation or New invoice for them.

Tip In a hurry? While making an invoice or quotation, click + New next to the customer field to add one without leaving the form.

Good to know

  • Change a customer any time with Edit on their page. Invoices already issued keep the details they were issued with.
  • Private notes are for your team only; they are never printed.
  • With E-invoicing, the form also asks for the customer's Peppol scheme and ID, if they have one.
