Handle component shortages
See which manufacturing orders are short of components, by how much, and get the stock in before you produce.
Before you produce, Owlvix checks every component against the stock in the order's warehouse. Orders that need more than you have are flagged, so you can buy or make the missing parts in time.
Steps
-
Check the overview. Short of components counts the open orders that need more stock, and those orders say how many components are short.
Shortages at a glance -
Open the order. A red note says how many components are short; each short line shows by how much, with what is in stock in red.
See what is short -
Get the missing stock. Click the component to open it, then Receive stock (or Order to buy it with Purchases, or make it with another manufacturing order).
Get the missing stock -
Go back to the order. Once there is enough, the lines turn green and the order can be produced.
Ready to produce
Warning You can still produce while short: Owlvix asks first, and the component's stock goes below zero until you receive or count it.
Good to know
- Shortages are checked for the order's warehouse. Stock in another warehouse needs a transfer first.
- Set reorder levels on your components so they show under To reorder before they run out.
