Plan a manufacturing order
Create a manufacturing order for the quantity you want to make, check the components it needs and confirm it.
A manufacturing order says what you will make, how many and when. It works out the components from the bill of materials and shows whether you have enough of each.
Steps
-
Open Manufacturing and click New order. The overview lists the orders still to do.
Open Manufacturing -
Choose the product and the quantity. The components needed are worked out on the right, with the estimated cost.
Product and quantity -
Pick the planned date and, with Multi-Warehouse, the warehouse the components come from and the product goes back to. Add a note if you like.
Date and warehouse -
Click Save draft. The order gets its number (MO-0004 and so on). Each component shows what is needed and what is in stock.
Save the draft -
Click Confirm when the plan is final. Confirmed orders show as Ready when every component is in stock.
Confirm the order
Tip Start an order from a BoM's page with New order to have the product filled in.
Good to know
- A draft can still be edited; a confirmed order can't, but it can be cancelled until it is produced.
- Orders past their planned date are shown in red.
