Produce a manufacturing order
Record that the goods were made: components come out of stock, the finished product goes in, and its cost is booked.
When the goods are made, click Produce. Owlvix takes the components out of stock, adds the finished product at its real cost (components plus labour and overhead) and books it in your accounts.
Steps
-
Open the order. In Manufacturing → Manufacturing orders, To do lists draft and confirmed orders. Ready means every component is in stock.
Open the order -
Check the components. Each line shows what is needed and what is in stock, in green when there is enough.
Check the components -
Click Produce and confirm. Lot-tracked products ask for the lot number of what you made first.
Click "Produce" -
Read the cost. The order is Done. It shows what the components cost, the labour and overhead, the value produced and the cost per unit.
Done, with its cost -
See the stock moves. The finished product is added and each component is taken out, all with the order's number.
The stock moves
Note Components are valued at their average cost on the day you produce, so the finished product's average cost follows your real costs.
Good to know
- View journal entry on a done order shows how it was booked.
- A produced order can't be undone. To correct it, count the stock.
