A reorder level is the quantity at which you want to buy more. When stock drops to it, the product is marked Low and listed under To reorder, so nothing runs out by surprise.

Steps

  1. Edit the product. Open it from Inventory → Products and click Edit.

    Edit the product
  2. Set the reorder level. Enter the quantity that should warn you, for example a week of sales. Click Save product.

  3. Check the overview. Running low counts the products at or below their level, and To reorder lists them with what is left.

  4. See them all. On the Products tab, choose To reorder.

  5. Order more. Click Order more under a product (with the Purchases add-on): a purchase order opens with the product and a suggested quantity on it. Pick the supplier and check the quantity.

Tip The reorder level is a warning, not a limit. You can still sell below it, and below zero if a delivery is late.

Good to know

  • Leave the reorder level empty for products you don't restock; they only show when they run out.
  • With several warehouses, the level is compared with the total across all of them.
