The sell screen is made for the counter: big buttons, a search box that also takes a barcode scanner, and a cash screen that works out the change.

Steps

  1. Open the sell screen. In Point of Sale, click Open sell screen. Products are on the left, the cart on the right.

    Open the sell screen
  2. Tap a product to add it. Pick a category at the top to show fewer products. Tap again to add one more.

    Tap a product
  3. Scan or search. Scan a barcode (or type it and press Enter) and the product goes into the cart. Typing part of a name filters the grid.

    Scan a barcode
  4. Change quantities. Use − and + on a cart line. The total, with tax, updates as you go.

    Change the quantity
  5. Click Cash. Type the cash the customer gave you or tap one of the amounts. The change is worked out.

    Take cash
  6. Click Complete sale. Give the change shown, then click New sale for the next customer.

    Complete the sale

Tip Paid by card on your card terminal? Click Card instead of Cash: the sale completes straight away.

Good to know

  • Stock goes down with each sale, from the warehouse the register sells from. The number on each product is what is left.
  • Each sale gets a number (S-00008 and so on) and is listed on the Sales tab with its receipt.
  • Prices and tax are checked again on the server, so the till can't sell below your prices by mistake.
