How do I change the currency?
Your books' home currency is fixed when the company is created. You can still invoice and buy in other currencies. Here is how.
Every company has one home currency: your books, reports and bank accounts are kept in it. It is set when the company is created and can't be changed afterwards, because every amount already in the books is in it. What you can do is work in other currencies alongside it.
Invoice or buy in another currency
-
Open Finance & Accounting → Currencies. The top line says which currency your books stay in. The table lists the currencies you have switched on, with today's rate.
Open Currencies -
Switch on a currency. Under Switch on a currency, pick it and click Switch on.
Switch on a currency -
Add a rate (or click Fetch latest rates). A document takes the latest rate on or before its date.
Add a rate -
Use it. Give a customer or supplier that currency, or choose it on an invoice or bill. Totals are shown in both currencies, and exchange gains or losses are booked for you when they pay.
Wrong home currency?
If the company was just created with the wrong currency and has no real data yet, contact us. We can set up a new company with the right one.
Note Your subscription price is in the currency chosen at sign-up and is separate from your books.
