Bill customers automatically with recurring invoices
Set up an invoice that repeats every week, month or year, and choose whether each one is a draft, issued or emailed.
For rent, retainers, maintenance or any regular service, make a recurring invoice once. Owlvix creates each invoice on schedule, every morning one is due.
Steps
-
Open Sales & Invoicing, then Recurring. It lists your recurring invoices with the date of the next one. Click New recurring invoice.
Open "Recurring" -
Pick the customer.
-
Set the schedule. Repeat every 1 month (or weeks, or years), the date of the First invoice, and how many days they have to pay. Optionally stop it on a date or after a number of invoices.
How often, and when -
Choose what happens each time. Create a draft for you to check, Issue it, or Issue and email it to the customer.
Draft, issue, or issue and email -
Add the lines, just like on an invoice.
Add the lines -
Click Save recurring invoice. Its page shows the next date and the invoices made so far. Pause, Resume, Run now or End it at any time.
Save it
Tip Already have an invoice for this customer? Open it and click Make recurring to start from it.
Good to know
- Missed days catch up, and a date is never invoiced twice.
- In another currency, each invoice takes the exchange rate on its own date.
- Changing the template changes only the invoices still to come.
