Return goods to a supplier
Send damaged or wrong goods back, take them out of stock, and record the supplier's credit and refund.
When goods you bought are damaged or wrong, return them on their purchase order. Stock goes down, and if they were billed, Owlvix makes a supplier credit note so you owe less, or get money back.
Steps
-
Open the purchase order and click Return to supplier.
Click "Return to supplier" -
Enter what goes back, and why. Type the Return qty on each line and a Reason.
What goes back, and why -
Replacements and warehouse. Tick The supplier will send replacements if they will: the quantity is open again on the order, to receive later. Pick the warehouse the goods leave from.
Replacements and warehouse -
Click Return goods. The goods leave your stock. If they were already billed, a supplier credit note (DN-…) is made and listed on the return.
Return goods -
Open the credit note. It comes off what you still owe on the bill. If the bill was already paid, it shows Refund due.
Open the credit note -
Record the refund. When the supplier pays you back, enter the amount, date and reference and click Record refund.
Record the refund
Good to know
- Goods not billed yet? No credit note is needed: the order simply bills only what you kept.
