Turn on two-factor login

Protect your login with a 6-digit code from an authenticator app, and keep recovery codes in case you lose your phone.

Video 56 s 5 steps Updated 5 Nov 2026

With two-factor login, signing in takes your password and a 6-digit code from an app on your phone. Someone who learns your password still can't get in.

Steps

  1. Click the shield. It is at the top right of every page, and opens your login security.

    Click the shield
  2. Click Turn on. A QR code and a key appear. You need an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password.

    Turn on
  3. Scan the QR code and confirm. In the app, add an account and scan the code (or type the key). Type the 6-digit code the app shows and click Confirm.

  4. Save your recovery codes. Copy them somewhere safe, such as a password manager. Each one gets you in once if you lose your phone. They won't be shown again.

    Save your recovery codes
  5. Log in with a code from now on. After your password, type the code from the app and click Continue.

Warning Lost your phone and your recovery codes? Ask an owner or admin of your company to help you get back in.

Good to know

  • Owners can require two-factor login for everyone in Settings → Team security.
  • To turn it off, or make new recovery codes, open the shield again and enter your password.
